Have you read the Bible, lately?
No, not just the parts and bits that fit on your Facebook feed, but the whole Bible, word for word, cover to cover? When was the last time?
Has it been that long?
You’re not the only one.
This year, I’d like to join you in reading it through—together. No more trying to do this on your own. No more thinking you’ll figure it out and then forgetting or waiting until the perfect time. That time has arrived and I’m going to help you accomplish a goal you may never have made for yourself before.
So, How Does this Work?
To make this even more fun, I’m going to be reading through the Chronological Bible. It’s the very same books of the Bible but put in order the way Bible scholars believe the events occurred. Which feels more like reading a story and I love that. I’ll be using the NIV for no other reason than it’s an easy read and I have one on hand. Use whatever version you have at home, whichever version you will commit to reading. If you want to try reading the Bible chrononlogically then no worries–I’ll be including a weekly chronological Bible plan just for you!
How Long Will This Take?
Reading through the Bible in a year will not take lots of time—it takes commitment. Daily reading is 15-20 minutes. Let’s be honest, I spend more time each day looking at Pinterest, don’t you? It’s a small piece of my day that will bless me back in big ways.
Read the Bible Together
God made us for relationship. We need each other for so much and our faith is no exception. We grow best together not alone. That’s why I believe so much in discipleship. It’s linking arms with someone with purpose—to feed our soul and grow closer to Jesus.
Many, many moons ago, I played soccer for my high school. (If I ran down a field now I’d need to be resuscitated.) We were a championship team. Apart, each young woman was pretty darn talented, but together?
We were unstoppable.
My Commitment to You
My heart’s passion is to disciple women. I have a group of young moms right now who I meet with regularly. (More about that soon…) We signed a covenant to grow in Christ together for a whole year, based on the Titus 2 model of discipleship, I meet with these precious girls regularly. I pray for them daily and encourage them to walk in grace and truth. For Christmas, I gave them each a chronoligical Bible to read through this year. SO, you, my friend can join us right from the comfort of your favorite soft spot on your couch.
My commitment to you each week:
- I’ll include a chronological reading plan in each weekly newsletter.
- Along with, a beautiful memory verse image you can memorize and share like the one below.
- I’ll be brave and go live with a personal Instastory message of encouragement from me to you from our Grace & Truth Living Instagram home and Facebook Live.
- I’ll share my heart and engage you with timely questions in our private Facebook group.
